Bangladesh Development Party (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ ডেভেলপমেন্ট পার্টি, lit. 'Bangladesh Development Party'; BDP) is a Bangladeshi political party. The party advocates for national development, economic growth, social justice, and good governance, with an emphasis on sustainable development and public welfare.[1][failed verification]

History
The party initially began its political journey in 2022.[2]
BDP applied for registration as an political organization on 26 October 2022 but the request was rejected by the Bangladesh Election Commission in April 2023.[1][3][4] Several BDP members and leaders allegedly were affiliated with Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir which is the student wing of Jamaat, BDP denied having any connections with Jamaat or Shibir.[5]
In December 2024, the Bangladesh High Court delivered a verdict requesting that the Election Commission registers BDP as a political party.[4][6]
BDP finally was registered as an political party on 3 February 2025 with cauliflower as its symbol.[1][7][6][8]
