CMR University is a private university located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.[5][6] CMR University (CMRU) has been established and is governed by the CMR University Act of 2013.[7] CMRU offers programs in law, technical, health, management, life sciences and other allied sectors of higher and professional education.[8] CMR University is also recognized by AIU.

CMR University hosts academic initiatives and industry-linked programmes related to emerging technologies and innovation. In May 2023, CMR University hosted a global open innovation challenge focused on urban sustainability, bringing together international participants and researchers.[11] In July 2025, CMR University hosted the launch of the India chapter of the Global Design Thinking Alliance (GDTA), bringing together design-thinking leaders from academia and industry.[12] In September 2025, CMR University launched new undergraduate programmes and a DGCA-certified drone pilot training initiative at its Bengaluru campus.[13]

Affiliation
Like all universities in India, CMR University, Bangalore is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).[1] The University is also a recognised member of Association of Indian Universities.[2]
