Scope
- Per Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2019_February_5#Category:Germanic_people, this category only deals with individuals from Category:Historical Germanic peoples. It does not include individuals from modern Category:Germanic ethnic groups.
- Per Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2023_March_21#Category:Germanic_people_by_occupation, the fact that modern people natively speak a language that belongs to the Germanic language family is WP:NONDEFINING for their career per WP:OCEGRS.
- Per Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2022_May_12#Category:21st-century_Germanic_people and the factual current contents of Category:Germanic people by century, the 12th century (probably because the Viking Age ended then) serves as the cutoff point.
- Ergo, all people belonging to Germanic peoples / Germanic ethnic groups that didn't yet exist in the 12th century (such as Category:Afrikaner people) are to be removed from this category. Cheers,
