History
In 2009, Sadra was upgraded to city status. After the 2016 National Census, Siyakh Darengun Rural District was separated from the district in the formation of Siyakh Darengun District.[4]
In 2024, Darian Rural District and the city of Darian were separated from the district to form Darian District.[5]
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 census, the district's population was 1,442,842 in 372,838 households.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 1,625,807 people in 461,209 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 1,788,411 inhabitants in 543,807 households.[2]
