Chelgerd

City in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chelgerd (Persian: چلگرد)[a] is a city in the Central District of Kuhrang County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and district.[6] It is also the administrative center for Shurab-e Tangazi Rural District.[7] The village of Chelgerd was converted to a city in 1999.[3]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 2,708 in 539 households.[9] The following census in 2011 counted 3,061 people in 596 households.[10] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 2,989 people in 753 households.[4]
