Career

Woodrow moved to New York City in 2001 to work on Wall Street in investment banking at Oppenheimer & Co. from 2001 to 2003 before becoming a vice president at Citigroup Global Markets from 2003 to 2005. He then served as managing director of Prospect Point Capital, a media and entertainment investment company, from 2005 to 2007.

Woodrow was the founder and served as chairman and CEO of Worldview Entertainment,[1] a prolific motion picture finance and production company, from 2007 to 2014.[2][3] He departed the company in June 2014.[4] Worldview filed a lawsuit against Woodrow in October 2014. In response, he sued Worldview.[5] The company ceased operations in March 2015.[6][7] Sarah Johnson, an investor in the company, also filed a lawsuit against Worldview in March 2015,[8] which was dismissed in March 2017.[9]

Woodrow was the founder and served as chairman and CEO of Vendian Entertainment, the successor to Worldview, from 2014 to 2016.[10] During this period, the companies collectively financed and produced over 30 feature films, including Birdman, Black Mass, and Hacksaw Ridge, which were nominated for 16 Academy Awards, and won six Oscars, including Best Picture.

Woodrow financed and produced other independent films during this era, including Killer Joe,[11] The Green Inferno,[12] The Immigrant,[13] The Neon Demon, Triple 9, and Wish I Was Here.[14] He was named one of 10 Producers to Watch by Variety in 2012[15] and one of five Producers to Watch by Deadline at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013.[16] Woodrow was an event chair of amfAR's annual Cinema Against AIDS Gala at the Hôtel du Cap in 2014 and 2015.

Woodrow moved to Los Angeles in 2017. He was the founder and CEO of MovieCoin, a cryptocurrency-based entertainment finance company, from 2017 to 2018.[17][18]

Woodrow has been the founder and chairman of Media Capital Technologies (MCT), a media and entertainment investment company, since 2019. MassMutual acquired an interest in the company in 2021. MCT closed a multi-year slate co-financing deal with Lionsgate in 2023.[19]

Woodrow reteamed with filmmaker Eli Roth in 2025 when Roth founded The Horror Section in partnership with MCT.[20] Woodrow serves as chairman of the company. The first film Roth wrote and directed for the new genre studio was Ice Cream Man,[21] which was sold to foreign distributors at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025 and is scheduled for a wide theatrical release in 2026.[22]
