Coconuts is a coastal locality in the Cassowary Coast Region, Queensland, Australia.[2] In the 2021 census, Coconuts had a population of 216 people.[1]
The locality is bounded to the south by the Johnstone River and to the south-east by the Coral Sea.[3]
Coconut Point is a headland at the northern mouth of the river into the sea (17°30′28″S 146°03′52″E / 17.5077°S 146.0644°E) and presumably the origin of the locality name.[4]
History
The locality was officially named on 17 March 1984.[2]
