Dean Jobb

Dean Jobb is from Wolfville, Nova Scotia.^[1] His career in journalism spans over 40 years,^[2] including a 20-year career at The Chronicle Herald; he has received three Atlantic Journalism Awards in recognition of his work.^[1] Jobb is an associate professor at the University of King's College,^[1] and was named professor emeritus of the university's School of Journalism.^[2]

Jobb has authored several nonfiction books, particularly in the area of true crime.^[2] His book Calculated Risk: Greed, Politics and the Westray Tragedy (1994) was the winner of the City of Dartmouth Book Award.^[2] His 2015 book Empire of Deception was named the Chicago Writers Association Book of the Year, won the Crime Writers of Canada Arthur Ellis Award, and was a finalist for the Hilary Weston Writers' Trust Prize for Nonfiction.^[3]
