Desulfuromonas is a Gram negative bacterial genus from the family Desulfuromonadaceae.[1][2][3] Desulfuromonas can reduce elemental sulfur to H2S.[4] Desulfuromonas occur in anoxic sediments and saline lakes.[5]

The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN)[1] and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).[6]
