History

In a 2021 interview with Downstage, vocalist Felipe Hervoso said AXTY had begun as his solo project before evolving into a full band as live performance became a priority.[7] The same year, the group released the EP What I've Become.[1] In May 2021, Wikimetal described AXTY as a quintet comprising Hervoso, bassist Jonathas Peschiera, guitarists Guilherme Pagani and Felipi Grivol, and drummer Gabriel Vacari.[8]

Later in 2021, Downstage described Helpless as the band's first full-length album.[7] Portal Metal Revolution covered the release and described AXTY as a São Paulo quintet whose audiovisual production and recording were handled internally by the band, with Felipe Hervoso directing the videos and Jonathas Peschiera responsible for mixing and mastering.[9][2] In the same Downstage feature, guitarist Guilherme Pagani discussed the band's use of electronic elements and drummer Gabriel Vacari described the recording process for Helpless.[7]

AXTY released its second studio album, Unbreakable, in March 2023.[3] Roadie Crew later reported that the band staged an Unbreakable release show at Hangar 110 in São Paulo.[10] In February 2024, Ponto ZerØ reported that AXTY had played its first shows outside Brazil alongside Chelsea Grin.[11] A July 2023 Instagram post by the Argentine promoter Noiseground billed AXTY and Nvlo as special guests for Chelsea Grin's show at Uniclub in Buenos Aires on 23 August 2023,[12] and Brazilian outlets Acesso Music and Agenda Metal reported that AXTY also appeared with Chelsea Grin and GLORIA at the CWB Music Festival at CWB Hall in Curitiba on 25 August 2023.[13][14]

In 2024, Roadie Crew reported that AXTY released its third studio album, Hannya, through Outono Music/Universal, describing it as a return to the heavier approach of Helpless after the more accessible direction of Unbreakable.[4] The publication identified the lineup as Hervoso, bassist Jonathas Peschiera, guitarist Felipi Grivol, and drummer Gabriel Vacari.[4] In June 2024, Lambgoat covered the song "Emptiness Within", which featured Taylor Barber of Left to Suffer.[15] The band was also announced for the 2024 We Missed Ourselves Fest in Mexico City, alongside acts including Falling in Reverse, Killswitch Engage, Thursday, Hawthorne Heights, Crown the Empire, Fit for a King, and Veil of Maya.[16] In September 2024, Mais Esports reported that AXTY collaborated with Edu Falaschi and Lucas Inutilismo on "Novos Horizontes", the theme song for the 2024 CBLOL second-split final, and that the song would be performed live at the event's opening ceremony.[17] IGN Brasil later described the live performance of "Novos Horizontes" by Edu Falaschi, Lucas Inutilismo and AXTY at the opening ceremony for the 7 September 2024 final in Belo Horizonte.[18]

In November 2024, Lambgoat reported that AXTY had been booked as support on Born of Osiris's 2025 United States headlining tour, alongside Within Destruction, Entheos, and Lost in Separation.[19] The PRP later reported that AXTY had also been booked on another Born of Osiris U.S. tour in late 2025, this time with The Browning, VCTMS, and Lost in Separation.[20]

In 2025, The Rockpit and journalist Igor Miranda reported that AXTY had signed with Napalm Records and released "selfish", the band's first release for the label.[5][21]

In April 2026, Distorted Sound reported that AXTY had announced its fourth studio album, The Pain Made Me Who I Am, for release on 21 August 2026 via Napalm Records. The publication also reported that the band was then touring with Lacuna Coil and Escape the Fate, and that the previously released songs "selfish", "fragile", and "dismay" would appear on the album.[6] Metal Injection also covered the 2026 U.S. tour with Lacuna Coil, Escape the Fate, VOWWS, and AXTY.[22] GRIMM Gent identified AXTY's lineup at the time of the album announcement as Hervoso, drummer Gabriel Vacari, and guitarist Jonathas Peschiera.[23]

Line-up history

Published sources have documented several AXTY line-ups over time. In May 2021, Wikimetal described the band as a quintet consisting of Felipe Hervoso, bassist Jonathas Peschiera, guitarists Guilherme Pagani and Felipi Grivol, and drummer Gabriel Vacari.[8] In October 2021, Downstage still identified Pagani as the band's guitarist.[7] By July 2024, Roadie Crew described AXTY as a quartet of Hervoso, Peschiera, Grivol and Vacari.[4] A March 2025 Rock On Stage show review likewise identified Peschiera on bass and Grivol on guitar.[24] Apple Music credits for the September 2025 single "selfish" then listed the performing artists as Hervoso, Vacari and Peschiera, with Peschiera credited on electric guitar.[25] GRIMM Gent similarly described AXTY as a trio of Hervoso, Vacari and guitarist Peschiera in April 2026.[23]

Based on the dates of these published line-up descriptions, AXTY's documented membership can be summarized as follows:
