Early life
Andreas Calogero Galiano was born in Heilbronn, Germany, into a Sicilian-Italian family whose livelihood centered on their restaurant, Gallo d’Oro, in nearby Neckarsulm. After a kitchen fire destroyed the original site, the family moved to Bad Friedrichshall, where he spent the remainder of his childhood. He began writing songs at the age of nine, inspired by his older brother Salvatore (“Toto Blu”) and the live music performances in his father’s restaurant.
Career
Krush began releasing songs as a teenager on SoundCloud under the name Andi Krush. In Germany, he recorded his early sessions with Tim Eiermann (Bonassis of Liquido), laying the groundwork for his pop-rap sound.[3]
In February 2019, Andi Krush was featured in the *Heilbronner Stimme*, a regional German newspaper, in an article highlighting his early ambitions as a hip-hop artist.[4]
In 2022, he relocated to Los Angeles, collaborating with:
- John Hu – recorded "Your Love" (featuring Salvatore Galiano)[3]
- Hush – produced "Ferrari", "Every Day" and "All My Life"[3]
- Gyovanni Moner (Good Lunch) – co-wrote "Crazy Like You"; he is the brother of actress and singer Isabela Merced[3]
- Zach Alwin – produced "Loving Is Stronger" and "Painting a Picture"[3]
- The Ceasars and Dario Comuzzi – co-wrote "Lost in the City Lights" and "All I Can Hear"[3]
- Jason Dauman – provided A&R support and introduced Krush to Luigi “Lugo” Gonzalez, Chico Bennett, and Gerina Di Marco[3]
In August 2023, Krush and Bennett recorded the six-track EP Shadows Run in Burbank; music videos songs "Shadows Run" and "Beautiful (When Ur In My World) were directed by Chico Bennett and Christopher Broughton.[3]
Musical style and influences
Krush’s music blends pop, hip hop, and alternative styles. He cites beerbongs & bentleys by Post Malone, The Cure, and Arctic Monkeys as key influences, and describes his own sound as “genre-fluid”.[3]
