Draft:Angela Magara

Angela Magara, American writer From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Angela Magara (born Angela Smith, 1945-2017) was an American feminist and writer. She is known for her book of poems, "Earth Psalms," an eco-feminist reimagining of the biblical psalms. Angela Magara was born in North Carolina and raised on her family’s 70-acre farm in Mount Pleasant. Angela attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she studied English and Dramatic Arts; she became the first member of her family to graduate from a university. Angela grew up in a Christian home and joined a born-again, charismatic Christian group in the 1970s. Angela's spiritual journey led her to neo-paganism in the early 1990s, when she joined Cella, a feminist pagan training group, and later Reclaiming. Her experiences with Reclaiming[1] transformed her vision of spirit and allowed her to fully experience herself as a priestess. Angela began writing Earth Psalms in early 2004 while she was living in the mountains of Vermont.[2]

  • Comment: Hello, the draft's sources don't yet demonstrate that this subject meets the notability guideline for authors or the general notability guideline. If you can find any reviews of Earth Psalms in reliable sources, that would be helpful. Please also note the draft should adhere to neutral NPOV. Sentences like "Her singular goal was to reframe the patriarchal modality of the biblical psalms into an eco-feminist structure." read as editorializing, especially since the claim is unsourced. [4] The Earth is steadfast and holds all that I need in Her open hand. I am glad to wait in the silent breath of the Earth. She is courage and love She, comfort and support. The Earth is joy and my source of strength. Psalm 27, Earth Psalms by Angela Magara[5]
