History
Optro was founded as AuditBoard in 2014 by Daniel Kim and Jay Lee,[6] both former auditors who served as co-CEOs.[3] In 2018, the company received $40 million in Series B funding from Battery Ventures and Mucker Capital.[7] Scott Arnold became President and CEO in 2020.[8]
In 2024, the company reached $200 million in Annual recurring revenue,[9] and later that year, was acquired by the private equity firm Hg in a deal valued at approximately $3 billion.[6] Former Paycor CEO Raul Villar Jr. was named CEO in July 2025 and the company reached $300 million in annual recurring revenue in October of the same year.[10][11]
Recognition
In 2024, the company received the Stratus Award for Cloud Computing from the Business Intelligence Group[12] and was named Overall Risk Management Solution of the Year at the 2024 CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards.[13] In 2025, the company was included in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 for the seventh consecutive year.[14]
