From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
BJAK is a Malaysian insurtech company that operates an online platform for comparing and purchasing insurance policies. Founded in 2019..[1], it initially focused on motor vehicle insurance (car and motorcycle) and Islamic takaful, allowing users to obtain quotes from multiple insurers and renew policies online [1][2]. The company is headquartered in Malaysia [3] and has expanded into other Asian markets, with offices or operations in Thailand, Japan and Taiwan [3]. By late 2025, BJAK reported that over seven million Malaysian motorists had used its service[4] and collectively saved about RM90 million on premiums through the platform[1]

Comment: Well, I thought the name rang a bell. This is a long-time promotional effort, see logs for Draft:Bjak Group, Draft:BJAK (create protected by DoubleGrazing a few months ago), Draft:BJAK GROUP, as well as this draft. bonadea contributions talk 10:07, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
Comment: This source is the same as this one, as can easily be seen if you read them. Both versions of the source were in the draft last time it was declined. I removed one of the copies (the second one linked above). The draft creator then replaced the remaining one with the one that had been removed, and resubmitted yet again. It is very evident that the company just isn't notable. bonadea contributions talk 09:54, 5 January 2026 (UTC)

History
BJAK’s business grew rapidly amid Malaysia’s shift to online services. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the company noted that its online insurance and road tax renewal services helped reduce crowding at government transport offices.[1]. In November 2021, BJAK introduced a buy now, pay later (BNPL) option for auto insurance in partnership with fintech firm Atome[5]. This new feature lets customers split insurance premiums into three equal, interest-free payments. BJAK was reportedly the first Malaysian insurance platform to offer such an installment plan, initially covering 15 insurance brands[5]
In late 2023, BJAK launched BJAK VIP, a subscription add-on for car insurance policies that provides complimentary services to policyholders. This yearly plan includes 24-hour roadside assistance, unlimited towing (up to 50 km per trip), full vehicle inspections, emergency battery jump-start and fuel delivery, and an extended warranty benefit.[6]. The company markets the VIP plan as a way for drivers to obtain these services at a low annual fee.
In 2025 BJAK achieved two major milestones. In December 2025, the company was officially recognised by Bank Negara Malaysia as an approved financial adviser (FA)[7][8]. At the same time, BJAK announced a partnership network uniting 16 insurers on its platform – a development described as the country’s largest online insurance ecosystem[7][9]. This expanded network includes major conventional and takaful insurers, giving customers access to a wide range of motor insurance and takaful products[7]. Also in 2025, BJAK introduced BJAK Bengkel, a digital workshop booking service. Through BJAK Bengkel, users can schedule car maintenance or repairs and pay in installments (for example, from RM10 per month)[10]
Products and Operations
BJAK’s platform is principally used for motor insurance but supports multiple types of cover. It enables car and motorcycle owners to compare quotes from many providers (the site advertises over 16 insurance and takaful operators available) and complete purchase or renewal transactions online.[1][2]. In practice, the platform integrates insurance and related services: for example, it allows customers to renew vehicle road tax at the same time as renewing insurance[2]
Beyond motor coverage, BJAK’s offerings extend to other lines of insurance. The platform includes travel and personal accident insurance options (as advertised on the site) and provides tools and information (such as travel insurance quotes and insurance guides) for these products. BJAK also supports various payment methods for purchases (including Atome BNPL, credit/debit cards, online banking, and cash payment options). Its operations are based in Malaysia.[3], and the company’s regional expansion into Thailand, Japan, and Taiwan reflects its aim to become a multi-market platform[3]. As of 2025, BJAK claims millions of users and dozens of industry partners, reflecting its broad presence in Malaysia’s digital insurance market[1][7]
