Carlos Gumpert (born 1962), also known as Charles Gumpert, is a philologist who translates Italian books into Spanish and is a high school teacher in Madrid. He has translated more than 130 Italian books into Spanish by authors such as Antonio Tabucchi and Giorgio Manganelli.^[1] He has been fortunate to translate into Spanish the works of several great contemporary writers for adults. He is pleased to have translated several books by renowned children's and young adult authors.^[2]. He was a Spanish lecturer for several years at the University of Pisa and translates opinion pieces for the newspaper El País and even catalogs for the Museo del Prado (Madrid).
