History
College Ave was co-founded in 2014 by Joseph DePaulo and Timothy Staley, both former executives at Sallie Mae.[1][2][3]
In September 2022, College Ave announced that Thrivent, a Fortune 500 diversified financial services organization, became its new majority shareholder.[4][5]
As of 2022, College Ave was the third-largest private student loan lender in the United States, originating and servicing more than $1 billion in student loans annually.[6][7]
The company has completed multiple securitizations to fund its loan operations. In March 2021, College Ave completed a $385 million securitization of private student loans.[8][9]
