History

Dancalan Football Club was founded in 1981 by the Ilog football community legend and Negros Occidental football pioneer Benigno "Boy" Gequillana. Boy Gequillana was the Mayor of the Municipality of Ilog from 1988 to 1998.
Dancalan Football Club was established in 1981 and is one of the oldest football clubs in Negros Occidental, representing and maintaining the football legacy of Dancalan and Southern Negros football. From its establishment, Dancalan Football Club has been a pioneer in football development in the town at the grassroots level. The club's footballers have played a significant role in the football development of Dancalan.
From its establishment, the club has been committed to grassroots and youth football development. It provided a competitive environment where footballers of Dancalan, Ilog, and the surrounding towns could hone their football skills and demonstrate their sporting talent at the school/barangay levels.
Dancalan Football Club has participated in various NORFA and PFF tournaments and is currently among the football clubs that belong to the Negros Occidental Regional Football Association (NORFA) and the former Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA).
The highlight of Dancalan Football Club's football journey and achievement was during the 2014 Sinulog Football Festival hosted by Kabankalan City. The club's Under 10, U13, and Men's Open teams all won their respective divisions, registering a three-division triumph in the competition.

In addition to the above achievements, the club has competed in various island-wide football festival competitions, including the AIA 7’s and NORFA Champions Leagues, in the youth and open age categories.

Legacy
The club's football legacy tradition started in 1981 at DANCALAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (FELOMINA G. GEOQUILLANA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL) where the first football team was born. Club's football tradition has given many generations of football players, varsities, and the community at large the game of football in the barangay level.
The clubs founding members such as Benigno "Boy" Gequillana, Jory Sanchez, and Jose Reymando "Etik" Baldava (Coach), together with NOFA (NORFA), have contributed greatly to the clubs football legacy, as well as football in general in the municipality of Dancalan. The contributions made by the clubs founding members and NOFA as the pioneer in Dancalan football and the southern negros football development in general, will forever live in the hearts of Dancalan's football lovers and players.

Youth Development
Dancalan FC has been working hard on developing football and nurturing young talents for several years, and with the current efforts of John Mark Cordova, there are football teams for different ages, including girls, so that young footballers can hone their football skills and strive to represent the club in local and regional football tournaments. Dancalan’s youth teams competed in local and regional football tournaments and achieved brilliant results, winning the age group champions in various football festivals in Negros Occidental.
