Dian Rana (born 2 February 1988) is an Indonesian digital content creator and independent documentarian. He is known for documenting the construction of Indonesia's new capital city, Nusantara, in East Kalimantan. His work includes YouTube content, vlogs, and a book chronicling the social and physical transformation of Nusantara.[1]

Early Life and Career

Dian Rana was born in Bandung, West Java. He previously worked as an administrative supervisor in Balikpapan before leaving his corporate job in October 2023 to become a full-time content creator. He moved to Desa Wonosari, Kecamatan Sepaku, near the Nusantara construction site to focus on documenting the development of the new capital.[2]

Activities in Nusantara

Media coverage has reported Dian Rana’s involvement in documenting various aspects of the development of Nusantara, Indonesia’s new capital city. According to Kaltim Post, he conducted early documentation of construction activities between 2021 and 2022, capturing initial stages of development through audiovisual content.[3]

Coverage by Rest of World noted his inclusion among content creators documenting developments during President Joko Widodo’s visit to Nusantara in September 2023.[4]
