Doug Harris is an American actor and playwright based in New York City. He is known for his work in Off-Broadway theatre and independent film. Harris received a nomination for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Play for his performance as Trevor Barlow in Chisa Hutchinson's play Redeemed.[1]
Early life and education
Harris grew up in North Carolina, including Charlotte and Chapel Hill. He began acting in high school before pursuing theatre training and later received an apprenticeship at Actors Theatre of Louisville.[2]
He later relocated to New York City to pursue a career in theatre and film.

Harris appeared in Michael Yates Crowley's Off-Broadway play The Rape of the Sabine Women, by Grace B. Matthias, produced by The Playwrights Realm at the Duke on 42nd Street in 2017.[3]
The production was reviewed by The New York Times, which discussed the play's storyline centered on a high-school football player named Jeff, portrayed by Harris.[4]
The production was also reviewed by Time Out New York.[5]
Harris later appeared in Karen Hartman's play New Golden Age, presented by Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters.[6]
Reviewing the production, TheaterMania described the dystopian drama and the central characters portrayed by the cast.[7]
Harris portrayed Trevor Barlow in Chisa Hutchinson's play Redeemed, which premiered at the Contemporary American Theater Festival before its New York production at 59E59 Theaters.[8]
