Greg Prestopino is a songwriter and producer whose credits include co-writing the Matthew Wilder hit "Break My Stride" and the Natalie Cole single "Wild Women Do".[1][2]

Personal life

Prestopino was married to actress Carol Locatell. The couple were together for approximately 50 years until her death in 2023.[3]

Career

Prestopino co-wrote "Break My Stride" with Matthew Wilder. The song reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 4 on the UK Singles Chart.[4]

He also co-wrote "Wild Women Do", recorded by Natalie Cole for the soundtrack of the 1990 film Pretty Woman.[5]

The American Film Institute Catalog credits Prestopino with music for the 1973 film The Young Nurses.[6] AFI also credits him as a performer on "Satisfy The Night" in The Last Starfighter (1984).[7] In the 1988 film And God Created Woman, AFI lists "You're Driving Me Crazy" as written by David Nichtern and Greg Prestopino and performed by Prestopino.[8]

Brandeis University's alumni magazine has identified Prestopino as a member of the Class of 1969 and later noted his production and mixing work on Craig Safan's album L.A. Ex.[9][10]
