History
HEBFC was founded as two separate clubs, Old Brighton Grammarians FC (1999) and Hampton Junior Soccer Club (2000). In 2014, Old Brighton Grammarians renamed to East Brighton United FC and in 2019 they merged with Hampton Junior Soccer Club to form Hampton East Brighton Football Club.[2] Hampton Junior SC was a Juniors only entity, providing pathways for boys and girls to play from four years old until their older teens, with no senior program existing before the merger in 2019.
Old Brighton Grammarians formed as the old boys' team of Brighton Grammar School, providing a pathway for former students to play Football post graduation. Initially playing in the metropolitan leagues, the club eventually joined the Provisional League, winning the Provisional League Three South East championship in 2007, a first ever league title. Over the next few years, Old Brighton Grammarians competed in the Victorian Provisional Leagues,[3] before eventually being promoted to the State Leagues, finding themselves in State League Three South East following a league restructure in 2014.
Under coach Bill Tsiakos, East Brighton United were relegated in 2015 from State League 3 South East[4] before being again relegated in 2016 from State League 4 South[5] A change at board level saw the landmark appointment of Brandon Galgano as the clubs Senior Head Coach, who at 21 years old was the youngest Head Coach in Victorian football ahead of the 2017 State League 5 East season.[6] An unprecedented era of success followed, with the club winning the SL5 East Seniors, Reserves and Grand Final's in 2017,[7] promoted to State League Four East for the 2018 season. A strong finish in 2018 saw the club finish in third place, just outside a play off spot
An exceptional 2019 season saw the now Hampton East Brighton Football Club crowned league champions, going undefeated for the entire season, winning the state title on penalties over Heidelberg Eagles.[8] With COVID disrupting the 2020 season, HEBFC returned for 2021 back in State League Three, holding an undefeated streak of 36 matches going back to 2018,[8] which was eventually broken at the hands of local rival Brighton Soccer Club in early 2021.
HEBFC were technically crowned back to back league champions in 2022, the first full season played since COVID, winning State League Three on the final day over Frankston Pines FC, before winning the State League Three Grand Final against Westvale SC.[9] Promoted to State League Two for the first time in 2023, another strong finish saw the club finish in 4th position, before again experiencing promotion in 2024, finishing runners up to Bayside Argonauts on the final day of the season, with the club promoted to State League One for the first time in 2025.
In a strong first season in State League One, the Reds established themselves in the division, with a cup run also extending to the fifth round for the first time, losing 3–0 to NPL giants Heidelberg United FC as the club took on NPL opposition for the first time in its history.[10]

Hampton East Brighton Football Club play out of Dendy Park in Brighton. A multimillion dollar project to renovate the club rooms is due to commence in early 2026.
The Junior club plays out of two venues, Simpson Reserve in Hampton and Cheltenham Park in Cheltenham.
