Dr. Hesung Chun Koh (born 1929) is a Korean-American sociologist, scholar[1], educator and author.[2] Focuses of her work include Korean Studies,[1] Women's Studies,[3] and Information Systems.[4]

Koh's husband, Dr. Kwang-lim Koh, was a US ambassador for South Korea, as well as a scholar specializing in law. Together, they had six children including Harold Hongju Koh. Koh, along with her family were an influential part of the Boston Korean Diaspora, which drew many Korean scholars to Boston due to its high concentration of universities during the 20th century.[1][5]

Education

In 1948, Koh moved to the US at the age of 19 to pursue a Batchelors' degree in Sociology and Economics from Dickenson College.[6] She went on to recieve her masters and doctoral degrees in Sociology and Anthropology from Boston University[2] in 1953 and 1959, respecively.[1]
