Political slogan in West Bengal From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mamata Di Arekbar (Bengali: মমতা দি আরেকবার, Mamata Di Arekbar, lit.'Mamata Di One More Time') is a Bengali-language political slogan and accompanying electronic dance music (EDM) track associated with the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) in West Bengal, India.[1][circular reference] The phrase expresses support for Mamata Banerjee, the incumbent Chief Minister of West Bengal, and was adapted into a viral digital audio track. The anthem represents a synthesis of political messaging, internet culture, and contemporary audio production techniques.[2] It is considered the successor to the party's 2021 election anthem[3], "Khela Hobe".[1]

Background

The AITC has used emotionally resonant catchphrases to mobilize the Bengali electorate. The party's foundational slogans include Ma Mati Manush (Mother, Motherland, and People), and Joy Bangla (Victory to Bengal).[1]

During the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, the party used the slogan Bangla Nijer Meyekei Chaye (Bengal wants its own daughter). The "Khela Hobe"[4] (The Game is On) slogan served as a cultural battle cry during that election.[1] Following the AITC's electoral victory in 2021, the party recognized the need for a new strategic messaging approach. While "Khela Hobe" framed the election as competitive, "Mamata Di Arekbar" was designed to emphasize administrative continuity and leadership endorsement, urging voters to grant Banerjee an additional mandate.[1][5]

Creators and production

Debangshu Bhattacharya[6][7] served as the lyricist, composer, and vocal performer of the track.[8] An AITC spokesperson and General Secretary of the Trinamool Youth Congress, he identifies his profession as a "Social Media Content Creator" in official election affidavits.[9] He was the AITC candidate for the Tamluk Lok Sabha constituency during the 2024 Indian general election.[9]

The musical composition and digital production were executed by Abhilash Ghosh[10], a music producer and DJ based in Kolkata who operates under the name DJ ABHI-Maheshtala.[11][12] As of April 2025, his YouTube channel[13] had surpassed 35,000 subscribers.[11]

Release and composition

The studio version, titled "Mamata Di Arekbar (Slogan Mix)[14]," was officially released on August 21, 2025, through Mermaidz Records[15], with a duration of 2 minutes and 34 seconds.[16] The track features digitally synthesized beats, electronic drum loops, and pitch-corrected vocals.[8]

The production was engineered as "bass-boosted" to maintain audio prominence when played through low-quality public address systems commonly used in street campaigns.[2]

Reception and dissemination

DJ ABHI-Maheshtala's YouTube channel served as the primary distribution platform. One upload titled "Mamata Di Arekbar | Debangshu Slogan Remix | New TMC Dj Song 2024" received over 8.7 million views.[11] Total views across multiple channels exceeded tens of millions.[17]

The track was also distributed on commercial streaming platforms including Apple Music, JioSaavn, and Spotify.[11] By tagging the audio as a "Bangla meme remix," the creators engaged with internet culture, facilitating organic sharing on platforms like WhatsApp and Instagram.[1]
