Poorvam International Journal of Creative Arts and Cultural Expressions (PIJCACE) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published semiannually by Dhvani Publication, based in Siuri, Birbhum, West Bengal, India. The journal focuses on interdisciplinary scholarship in the creative arts, performing arts, cultural studies, and humanities, with a particular emphasis on South and East Asian traditions.[1]

Overview
PIJCACE was founded under the editorial leadership of Amritanath Bhattacharya, who serves as Editor-in-Chief. The journal carries the ISSN 3107-6866, confirmed as a registered record by the ISSN International Centre, and is listed on ROAD (Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources), maintained by the ISSN IC under the auspices of UNESCO.[2] The journal is indexed by Crossref and OpenAlex, and is searchable through the National Library of India.[2] Articles are also indexed in Google Scholar.[1]
The journal operates under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) licence and follows a double-blind peer review process in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).[3]
The journal publishes original research, critical and analytical essays, review articles, book and exhibition reviews, creative works, interviews and conversations, and editorial and opinion pieces.[4]

The journal's coordinator is Nilambar Chakrabarti, a PhD research scholar at Jadavpur University and Sylff Fellowship recipient, formerly a research fellow at Smith College in South Asian Studies.[5]
Authors in Conversation
PIJCACE curates an annual international lecture series titled Authors in Conversation, a forum for scholarly exchange centred on significant texts in literature, philosophy, performance, and interdisciplinary thought. Each session takes the form of a live dialogue between the author or translator of a text and a distinguished interlocutor, with audience participation.[6]
Documented sessions of the series have featured:
- Dan Zahavi (University of Copenhagen), on phenomenology and social ontology
- Jonardon Ganeri (University of Toronto), on Fernando Pessoa and philosophy of mind
- Nalini Bhushan (Smith College) and Jay L. Garfield (Smith College/Harvard University), on their translation of Krishna Chandra Bhattacharya's philosophical writings[6]
Forthcoming sessions announced for 2026 include:
- Monima Chadha (University of Oxford; Visiting Karp Fellow, Cornell University), Professor of Indian Philosophy, known for her work on Buddhist philosophy and philosophy of mind, and author of Selfless Minds: A Contemporary Perspective on Vasubandhu's Metaphysics (Oxford University Press, 2023) — scheduled for July 2026
- Bartholomew Ryan (NOVA Institute of Philosophy, Universidade Nova de Lisboa), philosopher and researcher specialising in the philosophy of literature, Kierkegaard, and Fernando Pessoa, and author of Fernando Pessoa: Critical Lives (Reaktion Books, 2024) — scheduled for August 2026
- Swami Medhananda (Vedanta Society of Southern California; Hindu Chaplain, University of California, Los Angeles and University of Southern California), philosopher and monk of the Ramakrishna Order, known for his work on Vedantic philosophy, philosophy of religion, and Indian scriptural hermeneutics, and author of Swami Vivekananda's Vedāntic Cosmopolitanism (Oxford University Press, 2021) — scheduled for September 2026
