History
Early development
A 2001 profile in Dagens industri described Rose & Born’s retail environment at Strandvägen in Stockholm as resembling a gentlemen’s club and noted hospitality during fittings as part of the store experience.[5] The article also described the development of an in-house collection through direct work with Italian clothing factories and the use of direct marketing to customers, including a client register and editorial mailings.[5] Dagens industri reported a turnover of 15 million SEK for the year 2000 and noted that tailoring categories such as suits and blazers represented a large share of sales at the time.[5]
In a separate 2001 Dagens industri article discussing workplace dress codes during an economic slowdown, the company’s founder was quoted on the role of conservative norms in corporate dress, particularly in finance, and the return of classic combinations such as dark suits and ties.[6]
Editorial presence and later expansion
International menswear publications in the 2010s covered Rose & Born as part of Stockholm’s menswear retail and tailoring landscape and discussed the company’s online presence.[7] In 2015, Permanent Style listed Rose & Born among Stockholm menswear destinations in a sartorial shopping guide.[8]
In October 2024, trade publication Habit reported that Rose & Born expanded its Stockholm premises by adding a made-to-measure studio of approximately 120 square metres dedicated to made-to-order garments across categories including shirts, jeans, jackets, suits and coats.[9]
In 2025, Odalisque Magazine reported that Rose & Born had opened a store in Zürich.[10]

Ready-to-wear
King reported in 2020 that Rose & Born sold menswear under its own label across categories including tailoring, shirts, knitwear and outerwear, complemented by a selection of external brands.[11]
Robb Report Sverige described the company’s design references as drawing on alpine and Swedish landscape themes in an editorial feature on its collections.[12]
In 2025, Cool Material included Rose & Born in a guide to preppy menswear brands.[13]
Made-to-measure
Rose & Born offers made-to-measure suits, tuxedos, shirts and other garments.[1] Vogue Scandinavia described the process as starting with an initial consultation on preferences and needs, followed by a measurement session and subsequent steps toward a finished garment.[1] In January 2025, King reported that the company had opened a dedicated floor for made-to-measure in Stockholm and described a process that included a fitting after approximately six weeks and possible alterations after delivery.[3] The article provided indicative pricing (2025), including suits from 20,000 SEK and tuxedos from 25,000 SEK.[3]
Dagens industri profiled Edwin Nenzell in 2024, describing his role at Rose & Born and his views on suit styling for holiday occasions.[14]
Stores and operations
Rose & Born lists a store at Grevgatan 2 in Stockholm and a store at Wühre 1 in Zürich.[2] The Zürich store is located in the historic building Zunfthaus zur Meisen.
