History
SiPhox Health was founded in 2020 by Michael Dubrovsky and Diedrik Vermeulen, who met at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.[1] The company's technology is based on silicon photonics, which was originally developed for data communications applications.[2]
The company participated in Y Combinator's Summer 2020 accelerator program.[3]
In 2023, SiPhox Health launched a mail-in blood testing service and raised $27 million in funding from Intel Capital and Khosla Ventures.[3][4]
In 2025, The Boston Globe reported that the company planned to release its home testing device within the following year.[5]

Mail-in testing service
SiPhox Health operates a mail-in blood testing service in which users collect samples at home and send them to CLIA/CAP-certified laboratories for analysis.[2] The tests measure biomarkers related to cardiovascular, metabolic, hormonal, and inflammatory health.[2]
SiPhox Home device
The company is developing a countertop diagnostic device called SiPhox Home, which uses silicon photonics and microfluidics to analyze blood samples collected via finger prick.[5] The device was demonstrated at CES 2023.[6]
