Suddenly Intern (Korean: 신입사원 강회장; RR: Sinipsawon Ganghoejang) is an upcoming South Korean television series written by Hyun Ji-min, directed by Go Hye-jin, and starring Lee Jun-young, Son Hyun-joo, Lee Ju-myoung, Jeon Hye-jin, and Jin Goo. Based on the web novel The New Employee Chairman Kang by San Kyung, the series follows the journey of Chairman Kang Yong-ho, who, after an accident, swaps souls with a young man named Hwang Jun-hyeon and becomes an employee at his own company. It is scheduled to premiere on JTBC in 2026.[1]

Seeking to realize this, she secretly completes her studies abroad and joins the Choi Sung Group as a new employee under a different identity.

After her father, who pressured her by forcing her to compete with her younger brother over every little thing, suffers an accident, she begins to show her true colors.
- Chairman Kang Yong-ho's twin son. As the younger of the twins, Kang Jae-sung possesses a vast ambition, but surprisingly little ability. Overwhelmed by his father and overshadowed by his older sister, he becomes a petty person, determined to win against his sister and seize control of the Choi Sung Group.

Development
Writer Kim Soon-ok (The Last Empress, The Penthouse: War in Life) is credited as the story's creator, while writer Hyun Ji-min (Pandora: Beneath the Paradise) is credited as the screenwriter. The series is directed by Go Hye-jin / Christine Ko and is produced by SLL and Corpus Korea.[4] It is based on the web novel The New Employee Chairman Kang by San Kyung, creator of the series Reborn Rich's source web novel, which also aired on JTBC.[5]
Casting
In August 2025, Lee Jun-young and Jung Chae-yeon were reportedly considering.[6] On September 10, 2025, Lee Jun-young was confirmed to appear.[7] The next day, Lee Ju-myoung was reportedly positively considering.[8] On September 13, Son Hyun-joo was cast.[5] By November 6, 2025, Lee Jun-young, Son Hyun-joo, Lee Ju-myoung, Jeon Hye-jin, and Jin Goo were officially confirmed to star.[4]
Filming
Production was confirmed on September 10, 2025 after JTBC announced that it will air the drama in 2026.[9] Filming started on November 8, 2025 after the main casting was finalized. As of February 2026, the filming is still ongoing.[10][11]
