Composition
An experimental hip-hop EP,[2] the opening track, "Citrus Nioxide", features Detroit-based rapper Danny Brown, highlighting a "tricky and glitchy effect" looped in the instrumental. The second track, "Oscar", is noted for its dreamy chords and Slimkid3's chorus.[3] The third track, "Timeless", features "synth-heavy breaks" and piano keys akin to 1990s-R&B.[4] The fourth and final track, "Phabulous", represents a mix of old and new in the Pharcyde's style.[3]
Promotion and release
On April 4, 2025, The Pharcyde and rap collective 1999 Write the Future released the lead single "Timeless" to streaming services,[5] along with a music video.[6] It was considered the former group's first collaboration in nearly a year.[4] On April 22, both groups announced an EP titled Timeless releasing on May 2 by 88rising Records.[3]
