Toshio Sako (Japanese: 迫 稔雄; Hepburn: Sako Toshio; born: December 7, 1973) is a Japanese manga artist and professional boxer. Born in Shimonoseki City in Yamaguchi Prefecture.[1] His work includes manga series Usogui and Batuque.

Career
He was born in Shimonoseki City, in Yamaguchi Prefecture. His parents were Osteopaths according to him.[1] After graduating from high school, he moved to Tokyo and became a barber. He described this time of his life as a real hard one.[1] He aspired to become a manga artist at the age of twenty-seven, quit being a barber, and became an assistant to Takeshi Hyuga. He has said to be self-taught but under the teachings of Hyuga he would learned the drawing technique.
After that, he won the 48th Young Jump Monthly MANGA Grand Prix and Honorable Mention at his work "A Peculiar Gambler, Usogui" this one being an early version of what would be later serialized as his most famous work. In the same year, the same work was published in the 48th issue of "Weekly Young Jump" as a One-Shot, and he made his debut as a professional manga artist. Started a series of "Lie Eater" from the 24th issue of "Weekly Young Jump" in the year 2006 and ending in the year 2017 with 539 chapters.[2]
In 2018 he would publish the first chapter of his work Batuque, focusing in Capoeira.
