A pioneer of drag in northern Mexico, [1] she is well-known for her comedy project that combines drag performers with drag mascots.[2]
Personal life
He was born in Guadalupe, Nuevo León on october 27,1989.
At age 14, he joined a dance group.
He started working and paying for his own education at a young age (at 17) as an entertainer at a party hall. When he learned something from this job, opened his own event agency where he offered party planning services, choreography, performances, fireworks rentals, mascots, and adult entertainment including comedians, strippers, and drag queen shows.
He also became a certified Zumba Fitness and CrossFit instructor and opened three gyms. [3] and worked as a commercial model.
At the age of 19, he entered the nightlife scene working as a dancer in drag shows.
Career
His career as a presenter began outside of drag, as Erick Martínez, in 2010 on the television channel Canal 28 Nuevo León, where he had his own program as a fitness instructor called Vida con Energía (Life with Energy) for six years. [3] Because of this program, he was invited to be one of the hosts of Vida y Estilo (Life and Style), a morning magazine program.
In 2011 while working in television, he began his career as Turbulence Queen in the first drag queen contest ever held in the state of Nuevo León. She won first place, which earned her a job in a bar.[3]
In 2016, she ended his career as a television presenter and closed her fitness academies to devote herself fully to drag. [3]
The name, Turbulence Queen, was inspired by the song Turbulence by Laidback Luke and Steve Aoki. She worked as a permanent host, drag queen performer and presenter on drag contests.
In 2020, she won third place in the drag contest Toma Mi Dinerita (Take My Money) season 1, and became nationally known. [4][5]
In 2022, she began uploading videos more regularly to her YouTube channel, accompanied by Burrita Burrona, a fictional character who was a mascot for adults that emulated a drag queen. [5] [6] The two formed a comedy duo [7] but Turbulence Queen kept her solo career and two steady jobs. In 2023, the Movement for Equality in Mexico (MOVii) recognized them for her contribution to the LGBTQI+ community and her positive impact on society. [8] Although the concept originated in the LGBTQ+ community, it has since gained widespread public interest. [7] They appeared on several broadcast and streaming television shows. [7] With this, Turbulence Queen's career moved from the LGBTQ+ community to the mainstream. In 2024, she quit her jobs to focus on running her duo with Burrita Burrona. [9] [10] At the end of 2025, the duo disbanded. Turbulence Queen continues to lead her YouTube channels as a host, screenwriter, and creative director. [2]
