Unbihexium hexafluoride is a hypothetical chemical compound. It would consist of unbihexium and fluorine atoms, and have formula UbhF6; however, unbihexium is only a hypothetical element, so the compound has not been synthesized. Unbihexium would be in the +6 oxidation state and have an electron configuration of [Og] 5g2. Calculations suggest that the Ubh−F bonds would only be weakly bound, and would have a length between 2.48 and 2.79 angstroms. These bonds are calculated to be predominantly ionic, but with a small amount of covalent character arising from the mixing between 8p orbitals in unbihexium and 2p orbitals in fluorine. It should have octahedral molecular geometry.[1][2][3]

  • Comment: Only the Dognon reference has substantial content on this topic. Pyykko does not mention it, and Malli has one line in a table and mentions. And these papers do not even make a clear statement on whether it would actually exist in relation to other fluorides.
