The Faculty of Sciences and Techniques of Fez (French: Faculté des Sciences et Techniques de Fès; FSTF) is a leading Moroccan public institution specializing in applied sciences and engineering. Located in the Saïss district of Fez, it was established in 1995 as part of the Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University to foster technical expertise in the Fez-Meknes region.[1]
State Engineer Cycles
FST Fez is distinguished by its dual mission: providing academic degrees under the LMD system and operating as an integrated engineering school. This structure allows for a direct synergy between theoretical scientific research and industrial application.
The faculty awards the "State Engineer" (Ingénieur d'État) degree, focusing on sectors vital to the Moroccan industrial acceleration:
- Computer Engineering: Software architecture, embedded systems, and digital networks.
- Industrial Engineering: Mechanical design, production management, and logistics.
- Electronics & Telecommunications: Supporting the regional automotive and aerospace sectors.
Applied Sciences Degrees
In addition to engineering, the institution offers specialized Licence and master's degrees (LST/MST) in biotechnology, agro-food safety, and environmental chemistry, aligning with the "Generation Green" national strategy.[2]
Research and Innovation
The faculty serves as a primary R&D hub in central Morocco, hosting several laboratories that collaborate with the Fez Shore technology park. A key institutional event is the annual Innovation and Development Day (JID), which promotes technological transfers and academic-industrial partnerships.[3]
