By-election results
1964–1968
The first election to the newly created London Borough of Hounslow was held on 7 May 1964, ahead of the new council assuming its full powers on 1 April 1965. The election returned 48 Labour councillors and 12 Conservative councillors from 60 seats. London borough councils at the time also included aldermen, equal to one-sixth of the number of councillors, elected by the councillors from among themselves or other qualified persons.[23] Several by-elections were subsequently held during the 1964–1968 term.
