Jafarabad (Persian: جعفراباد)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Jafarabad Rural District of the Central District[b] of Jafarabad County, Qom province, Iran.[4] The previous capital of the rural district was the village of Gazeran,[5] now the city of Jafariyeh.[6]
Population
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 845 in 190 households, when it was in Jafarabad District[c] in Qom County.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 707 people in 189 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 919 people in 279 households.[2]
After the census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Jafarabad County and renamed the Central District.[4]
