The municipality lies at an altitude of 647 metres (2,123 ft)^[2] and covers an area of 24.19 km² (9.34 sq mi) (2025).^[4]

It has a population of 2569 people (31 December 2025).^[6]

In year 2021 was 2389 people by ethnicity 2344 as Slovak, 44 as Not found out, 8 as Czech, 7 as Polish, 3 as Italian, 2 as Romani, 2 as Other, 1 as German, 1 as Hungarian and 1 as English.
