Mendota Township is located in LaSalle County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 7,207 and it contained 3,154 housing units.[1] Mendota Township was formed from Meriden Township in February, 1856.

According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Mendota Township has a total area of 36.04 square miles (93.34 km2), of which 35.93 square miles (93.06 km2) (or 99.70%) is land and 0.11 square miles (0.28 km2) (or 0.30%) is water.[2]
