Nakhjavan Tappeh

Nakhjavan Tappeh (Persian: نخجوان تپه, romanized: Nakhjavān Tappeh)[1][a] is a village in Nazlu-e Shomali Rural District, Nazlu District, Urmia County, West Azerbaijan province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 105, in 28 families.[3] It is inhabited by Armenians.[4]

History
The Church of Saint Mary at Nakchivan Tepe was built in the 17th century.[4] Basil Nikitin, the Russian consul at Urmia, noted that the village was entirely populated by Christians prior to the First World War.[2] It was located in the Anzel District.[2] The Church of Saint Mary underwent restoration in 2020.[4]
