The Nurses Act 1957 (5 & 6 Eliz. 2. c. 15) was an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that consolidated enactments related to nurses and assistant nurses for the sick in England and Wales.[1][2]
The Nurses (Scotland) Act 1951 (14 & 15 Geo. 6. c. 55) made similar provisions for Scotland.
Repealed enactments
Section 34(1) of the act repealed 3 enactments, listed in the fifth schedule to the act.[3]

Subsequent developments
The whole act was repealed by section 23(5) of, and the eighth schedule to, the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act 1979 (1979 c. 36), which came into operation on 1 July 1983.[4]
