Obladaet
Musical artist
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Obladaet (Russian: Облада́ет; real name — Nazar Yuryevich Votyakov; born 10 August 1991) is a Russian hip-hop singer-songwriter and rapper. His discography includes 6 studio albums, 2 EPs, 1 collaborative EP, and numerous singles.
Nazar's stage name originated from the TV series Spets, in which one episode featured a dialogue about a card sharp with unique abilities. One character asks another: "So, for real, he possesses [obladaet]?" — "Yeah." — "Let him teach us." For some reason, the performer remembered this dialogue and the phrase "obladaet" in this context so well that when he recorded his first track, he signed it with that name.[1]
Biography and musical career
Early years: Youth, first love, and the beginning of a musical career
He was born on 10 August 1991, in Irkutsk and grew up without a father; his mother was a fashion designer.[1] In his childhood, he met a girl (Ekaterina Tretyakova) who encouraged him to start his great career. Nazar played in KVN and also had a strong desire to act in films. In the second grade of elementary school, he heard Eminem's song "The Real Slim Shady" on a local TV channel and later asked his mother to buy The Marshall Mathers LP album on cassette.[1][2] Later, he became acquainted with the work of the group "Kasta", and wore out the musical album "Chto nam delat v Gretii" by Vlad. He was also fond of the work of the musical groups "Konstanta", Limp Bizkit, and Crazy Town.[1]
At the age of 12, he enrolled in a sports school for tennis, earning his first money from it, and also played bandy and football.[2] Nazar recorded his first track as a diss, the idea for which came spontaneously.[1] In 2012, he participated in a local rap battle to improve his skills in hip-hop. Some time later, Nazar became acquainted with grime and, impressed by this musical direction, tried his hand at it.[2] In 2013, he tested his skills in the "15th Independent hip-hop.ru Battle" and reached the third stage of the tournament.[3] In 2014, Nazar graduated from the Irkutsk National Research Technical University. After 12 years of playing tennis, he started playing squash, believing he could achieve sporting heights in it, and soon decided to move to Saint Petersburg.[1][2]
In the autumn of 2013, he participated in the online "Grime Music Group Battle", where Nazar successfully won.[2] On 25 June 2014, he released the track and debut music video 0 To 100, which is a remix of the single of the same name by Drake. This work was published by the website Rap.ru, and subsequently, Nazar gained his first popularity.[4] On 28 December 2014, he released a collaborative video with I1, Kosmonavt.[5]
«Home Run» — «Double Tap»
On 26 March 2015, his debut EP Home Run was released.[6][7] Already on this release, Nazar moved away from the typical grime sound. The release features a guest verse from Thomas Mraz. A day after the EP's publication, a music video for the single Enter was released.[8] On 17 October 2015, Russia's first rap battle over beats in the grime clash format was released, where Nazar's opponent was Redo, a semi-finalist of the first season of "Versus: Fresh Blood". In the autumn, he applied for the "Beats & Vibes" project, where he successfully passed the selection.[2][9] Nazar reached the quarter-final stage and lost to rapper IQ with a score of 2:1.[10][11]
On 30 April 2016, a futuristic-style music video and the single 00:00 featuring Miriam were released.[12][13] On 9 May 2016, his debut studio album Double Tap was released, featuring guest appearances from Krestall / Kidd, ATL, Illumate, and Miriam.[14][15] Shortly after, a video for the collaborative track with ATL, Fashion TV, was released specifically for the "Novy Flow" project.[2] On 26 July 2016, a collaborative music video with Illumate for the track Universe was released, executed in Nazar's typical style.[16][17] That summer, he was also included in the list of the most notable newcomers, "Novy Flow", by the website The Flow.[2] On 30 September 2016, a music video for the double track Timelapse / Mask[18][19] from the same release as the previous one was released, executed in a similar style. On 10 November 2016, Markul released a collaborative video with Nazar for the single Posledniy Bilet from his upcoming album Tranzit.[20][21]
«Files» — «Wrong» and «Wok»
On 14 April 2017, the lead single Chains from the upcoming release Files and its music video, featuring various cars and weapons, were released.[22] On 28 April 2017, his second studio album, Files, was released, featuring guest appearances from Sted.d and Markul.[23][24] On this release, Nazar transitioned from futuristic rap to the thoughts and feelings of a modern young person, also mentioning various expensive clothing brands.[citation needed]. On 4 August 2017, he released his most-viewed music video for the track I Am from the aforementioned release. The video was shot in various locations: an office center, a golf course, and a highway.[25][26] On 30 November 2017, a collaborative 6-track EP with Markul, titled Friends & Family, was released.,[27][28] which received positive reviews from listeners.[29][30] That same year, Nazar quit squash as he could not combine sports and music.[1]
On 9 January 2018, a music video for the Krestall / Courier single Blago from the release Grunge: Khloya i otnosheniya was released.[31] This video work only features clips of Nazar shot on an iPhone. On 11 March 2018, a visualization of the single Kenny, inspired by the video works of American director Cole Bennett,[a] with an abundance of computer special effects, was released.[32][33] On 11 May 2018, a visualization of the single Wrong was released, where Nazar appears before the viewer in various images: an office clerk, a mental hospital patient, a motorcyclist, a domestic maniac, a director, a suicide bomber, and a prisoner.[34][35][36] On 26 October 2018, a music video for the single Wok was released, which, like the previous one, was shot in various locations.[37][38][39]
«Ice Cream» — «AA»
On 7 December 2018, Nazar presented his third studio album titled Ice Cream, which featured guest appearances by Feduk, Jeembo, OG Buda, Platina, and other performers.

On 28 September 2019, he released a single and a video[40] titled "AA", the release of which announced the upcoming EP, and at the end of the video, he showed a snippet of a song from the upcoming EP.
«3D19» — Present
On 25 October 2019, at 00:00, he published his second EP 3D19. The main concept of the album is "the music of tomorrow". The album includes 6 tracks, one of which is AA, a previously released track. The only featured artist on the album is hip-hop performer OG Buda on the song "AIR DROP".
On 9 November 2019, at his concert in Moscow, he premiered the video for the album track "HOOKAH". A few hours later, he published the video on the video hosting platform YouTube, at the end of which he announced a video for another track from 3D19 — "HOLOGRAM".
On 20 December 2019, Nazar released the video for the song "HOLOGRAM", a snippet of which had been presented earlier.

At the end of August 2022, the track "MB" in collaboration with another drill artist from the Russian scene, LIL KRYSTALLL, was released. At the same time, a video for this track, shot in England, was released.
At the end of the first month of winter, in December, Nazar unexpectedly released the track "MONSTER TRAKK", whose sound reminds listeners of the old Nazar, before the hit "PLAYERS CLUB", thereby taking his fans back to the times of albums like "ICE CREAM" and "FILES".
