Palluel (French pronunciation: [palɥɛl]) is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France[3] 19 miles (31 km) east of Arras, in the valley of the river Sensée.

1967 tornado
On 24 June 1967 a narrow F5 tornado killed six and injuring 30 others. 17 homes were completely destroyed, vehicles were picked up and thrown over homes and trees were severely damaged. It reached 250 meters wide and traveled 23 km.[4][5] This was the most intense tornado to hit France since the 1845 Montville tornado.[6]
