The Powers of Criminal Courts Act 1973 (c. 62) was an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that consolidated enactments relating to the powers of courts to deal with offenders and defaulters, to the treatment of offenders and to arrangements for persons on bail in England and Wales.[1]

Subsequent developments

The whole act was repealed by sections 165 and 168(1) of, and part I of schedule 12 to, the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000, which came into force on 25 August 2000.[3]
