Sierra Nevada Research Institute

The Sierra Nevada Research Institute (SNRI) is a research institute at the University of California, Merced. Established in 2007, it was UC Merced's first research institute.[1][2] SNRI conducts interdisciplinary research in the Sierra Nevada and San Joaquin Valley, focusing on issues including climate change, water resources, and the effects of wildfires.[2][3] The director as of 2025 is Asmeret Asefaw Berhe.[4]
