Sowgoli Tappeh (Persian: سوگلي تپه)[a] is a village in, and the former capital of, Zarrineh Rud-e Jonubi Rural District[4] in the Central District of Miandoab County, West Azerbaijan province, Iran. The capital of the rural district has been transferred to the village of Sarchenar.[5]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 2,945 in 745 households.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 2,931 people in 866 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 3,169 people in 977 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
