As of the 2020 census, Spring Valley had a population of 1,143. The median age was 55.6 years. 15.0% of residents were under the age of 18 and 31.8% of residents were 65 years of age or older. Spring Ridge Academy is an all-girls boarding school, for troubled teens, that was founded in 1996.
