Epstein filles
I'd like to start a discusion on the topic started by @Alsoriano97: whether the publication of documents regarding the Epstein case should be included in this article.
On the one hand, I completely understand that Epstein case is a huge and shocking thing – a group of the richest and most influential people were involved in child trafficking.
But on the other hand, the release of the photos by Congress, most of which were overly censored, is simply another stage of the proceedings, which are currently a part of USA domestic politics.
My point is that while the entire case should certainly be included in the article, I'm not convinced that individual elements, such as this one, should also be included. Szturnek¿odp? 16:13, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
- There is no doubt that the Epstein case has shaken American politics and has had repercussions even in a Royal Family. Is the matter notorious? Obviously. But I don't think the publication of the files is, basically because it is just one part of a long case, it is a partial publication with a lot of confidential content, and therefore, the impact days after publication has been very limited, resulting in international coverage and impact, but not in depth. Nothing has changed, nothing else has happened. I agree with you. _-_Alsor (talk) 18:35, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
Charlie Kirk assassination should be one of the pictures
It was one of the most significant events of the year, leaders from many countries across the world responded to it. It dominated news for a solid while. And dominated social media for months. It was a bigger case than the Air India crash and the Iberian Peninsula blackout, which were included. I am also not from America, it's definitely not something exclusive to there. And if we look at other years, like 1965, for Malcolm X or 1968 for Robert Kennedy and MLK or 2022 for Shinzo Abe in Japan and 2024 for Donald Trump, local assassinations were used as images. Article becoming biased after new year
This article has become biased and has somewhat of a reflective tone to it. For example, when I open the page I was greeted with this:
"The year saw an escalation of major armed conflicts, including the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which led to peace negotiations involving Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. The Gaza war, marked by famine and a humanitarian crisis, as well as the Sudanese civil war, also continued throughout the year.
Internal crises in Armenia, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, France, Georgia, Germany, Haiti, Libya, Peru, Somalia, and South Korea persisted into the year, with the latter culminating in the arrest and removal of President Yoon Suk Yeol from office.
The year also witnessed a wave of protests predominantly led by the younger generation, with some movements—such as those in Nepal and Madagascar—resulting in the overthrow of targeted governments. Several brief conflicts arising from longstanding tensions emerged mid-year, including clashes between India and Pakistan in May, Iran and Israel in June, and Cambodia and Thailand in July. In the latter case, a leaked phone call involving Thai prime minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Cambodian senate president Hun Sen resulted in the removal of the former from office.
In economics and business, the return of Donald Trump to the U.S. presidency ushered in a series of tariffs imposed by the United States on the rest of the world, significantly disrupting global trade and reinvigorating the China–United States trade war. The technology sector was also affected by the release of the DeepSeek chatbot, a Chinese large language model that competed with ChatGPT."
This section alone is quite biased, It's bringing attention to specific stories throughout the year, which is not the point of the article, it's supposed to be neutral and only giving facts about the about the year.
I am going to add a maintenance template to the article, but I'm letting you know my thoughts about it before I do, so, if you disagree with me, please let me know. AnonymusEditor558 (talk) 14:20, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
- I don't see how simply mentioning major events in 2025 counts as being biased. Aydoh8[what have I done now?] 14:24, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hey, I've just realise that's how wikipedia's year articles have been written for a good while. My bad. AnonymusEditor558 (talk) 18:34, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
