seconded; I was going to make a comment to the same effect...

I saw a video about wild animals drunk from fermenting marula fruit. Can it be true? --Beatak 12:21, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I can confirm this. -- Julian
Is the breaking into American markets thing true? I had some in the UK which is how I was introduced to it, at an airport and I was dissapointed to learn it wasn't sold in America. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.132.128.143 (talk) 06:16, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
YOu may just have to look harder, I bought a bottle a few days ago in the US ;) First time I remember seeing it was only a few years ago though.167.7.17.3 (talk) 13:18, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Peeps, with reference to the above comments, and having poured myself a small measure, I've updated the article to specify (among opther things) the current license holder. To my mind, the product of a private company can be the topic of a neutral POV article; provided that the product be identified as such -- a commercial PRODUCT, not a traditional recipe (like haggis) or a semi-natural strain, like basmati rice. There's nothing wrong with being straightforward about the economic context to this item -- quite the contrary, it should be known to be sold for a profit (hence, that the producer has an interest in it). If anyone has further info on the blandly named Southern Liqueur Company of (presumably) South Africa, perhaps another company stub is in order.

Will this do for a citation on the elephant/marula relationship? https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/02/070215140224.htm — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kpod (talk • contribs) 21:20, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
Help request
I have quite a few edits to make to this page, how can a propose all the changes and the additions of a few new and relevant images, in such a way that is considered and approved? Can someone please help? WebGap (talk) 07:24, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- You need to first comply with Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure before making any other edits related to Amarula to any Wikipedia pages. This was explained to you on your user talk page, and isn't really negotiable. Once you've done that, you can make Wikipedia:Edit requests proposing that changes be made to the article. As for images, you should carefully read through Wikipedia:Image use policy and c:Commons:Licensing before trying to upload any more files to Wikipedia and Commons. A bunch of files you previously uploaded to Commons ended up being deleted for questionable licensing and also for being too promotional in nature. Neither Wikipedia nor Commons is interested in hosting product related PR types of images because this article isn't intended to be part of some Amarula online promotional/marketing campaign or be treated as a subpage of its official website in terms of text or images. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:36, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Marchjuly hope you are well. What is the process to have a page removed from Wikipedia? The information on the page is not accurate and completely outdated. This would be the preference if we cannot update to relevant, accurate information. Could you please help guide me in the steps to follow. WebGap (talk) 06:37, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
- There's information on this in Wikipedia:Deletion policy; however, you and Armaula need to understand that the purpose of the Wikipedia article is not for you or the company to be able to control it and do as you want with it, i.e, it doesn't belong to you or your company and is not there for your benefit. As long as the subject is considered to meet Wikipedia:Notability (in particular Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)), it's unlikely going to end up being deleted just because it's outdated. Outdated information can still have value from an encyclopedic standpoint, and the article can be updated as long as doing so is in accordance with relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines. You can always propose changes be made by making Wikipedia:Edit requests on this talk page. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:50, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for your feedback @Marchjuly We do understand that. However the information provided is not an accurate representation - there are many errors and not from a sales perspective, from a pure informative perspective. I will gladly comply with all policies, but it's a rather complicated process of using short codes etc, and to be honest I am finding it very hard to make sense of where to even begin. WebGap (talk) 05:05, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- Maybe start by taking a look at Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Verifiablity. If there are errors in the article, you can make edit requests explaining what they are and how they should be fixed. You can use Template:Edit COI to make edit requests; just follow the instructions on the template's documentation pages. Keep your edit requests short and specific (e.g., change A to B in the first paragraph of the XXX section) to make them easier to respond to. If you want content changed/removed that's supported by a citation, you're going to need to explain what's wrong with the cited source and provide a new reliable source that supports the change you want made. If you want new content added, you're going to need to provide a reliable source in support. Major claims are going to require secondary/independent sourcing, but general basic information probably can be supported by a primary source. Maybe start with the one thing you feel needs to be updated the most and make that your first edit request. Perhaps after doing one, you'll get a feel for how the process works and things will get easier after that. What you want to avoid doing is asking for a major rewriting of the article in one fell swoop because that's simply not going to happen; so, try to get things changes a little at a time and understand that some changes most likely aren't going to be made. You and your company may need to temper or otherwise revise your expectations if the goal is to treat the Wikipedia article as part of your online presence because that's never going to happen. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:33, 27 November 2025 (UTC)

Proposed change to infobox image
| An impartial editor has reviewed the proposed edit(s) and asked the editor with a conflict of interest to go ahead and make the suggested changes. |
I would like to propose updating the lead image in the infobox.
There is an existing image on Wikimedia Commons: File:Amarula Festive.jpg
The image is freely licensed on Commons, clearly shows the product, is a product-only photograph without promotional overlays, and may better represent the subject in a neutral encyclopedic context.
Disclosure: I am assisting with factual accuracy on this article and am requesting the change here due to a potential conflict of interest. WebGap (talk) 12:45, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
