Full review to follow, but for now I would suggest proposing additional hooks. The first and third hooks require familiarity with Dey or her repertoire, and in any case may not be understood by non-Indian or non-diaspora readers. There is more potential in ALT1 (although rather dark), but it may need a rephrase or to be made more concise. Once additional hooks have been proposed I can do a full review.
