66th Berkshire Regiment

According to the Independent on Sunday (8th June 2008, p18, "Soldiers in Helmand unearth British rifles lost in 1880 massacre", http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/soldiers-in-helmand-unearth-british-rifles-lost-in-1880-massacre-842497.html), members of the regiment made a last stand in a walled garden in Khig, with the last 11 charging the Afghans. "Much smaller force"?

Ghazi Mohammad Ayub Khan supposedly commanding a much larger force is not an established fact true-to-life yet written in opening? Since when did Wikipedia start opening battles saying a force is bigger than the other? The same website that bans all use of British Raj sources for how unreliable they are?
