Citations

Hello, has anyone else noticed an excess of citations? Some sentences have five for just one fact. A bit of redundancy is fine, but this seems excessive.

Excess citations always make me nervous. Sometimes someone will add a dubious fact cited to an unreliable source. Someone else will object, then the first editor will add six more citations to equally questionable sources to bolster their argument.
Feel free to investigate and fix these, or add Template:Excessive citations inline tags where needed. GA-RT-22 (talk) 20:45, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

I also wonder if we really need all those "page number" templates. GA-RT-22 (talk) 21:10, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

A number of statements are sourced to note 156 (at this writing), "recollections of a crew member of the USS Essex" with no further attribution. Is this original research?  Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:441:4B80:340:407E:5332:3CE8:BBD2 (talk) 10:01, 5 January 2025 (UTC)

United States foreign policy debate

CIA Director George Bush?

George Bush was not CIA director in 1961. He was a private citizen and businessman. There are allegations he was involved with the CIA at this time, but further clarification is needed. Tfdavisatsnetnet (talk) 23:45, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

Opening Paragraph Clarification

For the opening paragraph to say the US invaded Cuba is misleading. I propose to edit the paragraph to make it clear that the one-day invasion was developed and led by the CIA and involved no US military assets, as both Eisenhower and Kennedy insisted. I have not yet drafted specific edits as the wording must be concise and clear. Please weigh in on consensus re: goal and purpose. Also, it should be clarified thaat funding came from both US government and private sources. Of course the article itself delves into these issues, but an accurate opening paragraph is essential. 5198blk (talk) 02:36, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
