- Can't be done. This is a survey and not a census. Survey data is considered official. Census data is official. Anways leaving this debate, Bihar Government has taken back the report of the survey because of some mistakes. Doesn't make any sense. Shaan SenguptaTalk 16:46, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
Sourcing for origin of Buddhism
@Manoj nav: It looks like you added the citation "Mishra Pankaj, The Problem, Seminar 450 – February 1997" on 19 November 2008 (in this edit) in support of the claim that Buddhism originated in Bihar. This sounds like a lecture given as part of a class? Wikipedia requires sources to be durably archived for verification purposes, so is there a recording of this lecture anywhere, or is it actually a text of some kind? This topic is complicated and disputed, so it would be helpful to find a source that is more specific than simply "arose", especially in the body text. It would also be good to know if the underlying sources are religious texts, or evidence found by historians or archaeologists. -- Beland (talk) 21:05, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

Adding Jainism related content in info box
Bihar region is the birthplace and nirvana place of 24th Tirthankar, Lord Mahavira. It is also the region where the 23rd Tirthankar, Parshvanath preached. Therefore, Jainism related information will be put onto the lede of the page and important places in info box image. Livingstonshr (talk) 01:57, 16 January 2025 (UTC) Additionally, I have removed Mahavir Mandir from infobox as the place doesnt seem to be from deep antiquity from history. September 2025
Note that 'Angika' and 'Bajjika' are not represented in the 2011 Indian census. But there is a sub-group called "Other" within the Hindi languages main group . Any attempt to club that number with Hindi or Maithili would be a case personal analysis. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:35, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
